You’ve Got a Friend
Last night’s yoga class was just what I needed. I had planned to go to Zumba but I left work earlier than anticipated and decided to take the 7pm Hatha Yoga at the Y instead. I didn’t sweat. At all. But we stretched every part of our body and I left feeling so loose and so good. My lower back had been bothering me all day – not sure if it was my return to Body Pump over the weekend or just sleeping at a weird angle – and this yoga class was the perfect way to release some tension.
Over Memorial Day Weekend I watched part of this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions and really enjoyed it. Producer Lou Adler was inducted and Carole King sang for him. He produced her ground-breaking album Tapestry in 1977. I have known some Carole King songs for years of course, but my Dad mailed me the full album and let me just say, I am loving it. I can’t remember the last time I sat and listened to a full album without doing anything else at the same time. Rock on, Carole.
My SIDI had the long ride at the Y planned for this morning but I just couldn’t get out of bed so I opted to do a circuit at home. I re-worked one I’ve done before to get in some strength-training but didn’t do any of the cardio. Something about doing jumping jacks in the morning in my apartment just felt off. I’ve shown you all this one before from Ashley:
I’m going to a movie outside tonight. Finally! I think I’m doing a pretty good job of checking off my summer bucket list so far. To more fun things ahead 🙂
