The fabulous bride!

The fabulous bride!

My sister’s Bachelorette party was this past weekend and it was a great success! I was unfortunately fighting through a horrible cold all weekend (and am still now…go away cold!!) but I still managed to have a blast. We started the party at one of my sister’s friends apartments in Hoboken. We had delicious sangria, yummy snacks and played the “underwear game” while listening to some of my sister’s favorite songs. It was a great start to the night. After a few hours hanging out, we hopped a van into the city and went to My Cooking Party for the rest of the evening.

The people from My Cooking Party are absolutely amazing. Every single detail was thought of and it was an effortlessly easy night of fun. We entered the loft and were immediately greeted by staff who took our coats and offered us wine (our glasses were NEVER empty all night). After hanging out for a bit, drinking wine, eating some delicious appetizers, the chef announced it was time to start and we donned our aprons.

After a short demo from the chef, we were off to our different stations to cook our three course meal. We were free to flow between all the stations and it was also OK to step away from a station because the two chefs just took over if we were busy chatting, drinking or eating. I spent my entire night at the pasta station because I was having so much fun working the pre-made dough through the Al Dente machine for the raviolis. The other stations were as follows: filling raviolis, making the eggplant roll-ups, making the Nutella/fruit/phyllo dough dessert, and cooking sauces.

The entire time we were cooking, there was music playing and it was a really festive atmosphere. We cooked for about an hour and then it was time to eat. We sat down and enjoyed the fruits of our labor with a delicious three course meal: eggplant roll-ups, mushroom ravioli with a pesto sauce, crab ravioli with a creamy tomato sauce and then a phyllo dough pouch filled with fruit and Nutella. It was all insanely delicious!

I’m so glad my sister had a great night and that all of our plans worked out (even with Nemo on the loose!). Up next, the bridal shower 🙂
