Whoever first said,”You never regret a workout,” was completely right. Spin last night totally hit the spot. Maybe it’s all the sweat but I definitely have a different feeling when I finish up a spin class versus another workout. I think I just mentally think it’s so hard that when I’m done and dripping, I just feel so accomplished. No wonder SoulCyle and Flywheel are so popular 🙂 I want to try them both sometime!
I came home and went back to an old favorite for dinner – quinoa, shrimp, veggies and soy sauce – the faux stir fry!
For the brunch over the weekend, I attempted to make these peanut butter pretzel truffles from How Sweet It Is. I don’t think they turned out too well but they were a big hit. I wish I had used milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet and that I had made them smaller so it wasn’t SO MUCH peanut butter with each bite. Eh, you live and learn. They were super easy to make though…
My morning today started out with a surprise visit from a repair man to FINALLY finish the repairs on my window that was damaged in the big storm we had here on June 30. Took long enough! I also had a particuarly rough PT session as she prepped me for the race this weekend. She reminded me that I should be drinking more water than usual this whole week – I had seriously forgotten that! Let the crazy hydration begin!
The salad challenge has picked up after the slump this weekend. I had salad for lunch yesterday and today. They were both pre-made from Safeway.
I feel like I hit the “reset” button last night. Now I just need to keep it up this week!
