Rest Days

Posted on May 24, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized |

I ran yesterday evening.  I know I said I was going to rest and let my hamstring heal, but it’s just so easy to go home, put on my running clothes and head out on my familiar route around my house.   No matter what, my mind is always in a much better place after a run no matter how far I go.

Yesterday was only 2 miles and they were 2 very humid miles at that – welcome summer in D.C.

Today is definitely a rest day and I’m looking forward to going home and making dinner. I had settled into a routine the last few weeks of making dinner almost every night for me and Justin.  This week, I haven’t made dinner once.  Nothing fancy will come of it, we bought some meat and corn on the cob at Eastern Market this past weekend and I am pretty certain both will make an appearance this evening.

Two words for last night’s American Idol season finale – Phillip Phillips!

I also watched the Revenge season finale and thought it was a great ending.  Throughout the season I didn’t know how they’d make it into a second season, but of course they managed to and I’m officially hooked.  Also, Stephanie passed this article on to me about Homeland which says it will be back September 20, woot!!  I like how the writers of Homeland share office space with the writers from New Girl (another new fave show of mine this year)!   Turns out, I watch a little too much television.

Only one more day until the long Memorial Day weekend.  We don’t have plans to travel to the beach, but I will be visiting the pool on Saturday.  My new bathing suit will also be making its debut  – I love all things stripes!

I hope to return tomorrow with another 5 bites Friday!
