A Very Random Thursday

I meant to write a post last night about nothing really new or exciting, but then I got sucked into Revenge.  I didn’t start watching that show at first, but now I’m 100% hooked!

Getting back to work this week was hard. After having about 2 weeks off – one of those weeks in Costa Rica – I was used to my wake up when you want, work out when you want, eat when you want routine.  I’m not totally back into the swing of things yet, but getting there.  This morning I woke up to make this recipe for dinner tonight in the crock pot.  My only concern is that it says cook 4-6 hours and since Justin and I both work at least 8+ hour days – it might end up being very overcooked (is that possible in a crock pot?).  I did put it on the lowest setting that says cook 10 hours, so we’ll find out tonight!

Yesterday I made it to the gym for my fave ab attack class on Wednesday nights.  My gym just expanded our group fitness room and resurfaced the floor.  Fortunately, the room is now bigger; however there are two big structural pillars in the middle of the room now.  Since I’m not coordinated enough to take a Zumba or Hip Hop class, I won’t be the one that runs into those pillars during class – thank goodness!

This weekend I am celebrating a friend’s birthday in West Virginia where we are taking part in a murder mystery…not joking!   I know the role I’m playing – which I’m not sure if I’m allowed to put it out there, I won’t yet so I can abide by the rules.  And while I’m not all that good at acting, I’m looking forward to trying this out. I’ll report back on all the scandalous/gory plot details.

We received this lovely painting from our friends Matt and TK for our wedding.  This has nothing to do with anything else on this post other than the fact that I wanted to add a picture and I had this one handy!

Burlington, VT!

TK is from there and I went to school there and have always admired the painting she has in her home!

It has been super frigid here the last two days but today it has warmed up a bit so tonight I should be able to do my 3 miler outside…with my Garmin 🙂  Speaking of the sweet Garmin, I need to read this article that I came across yesterday.

Last, but certainly not least, I’ve been reading a lot of New Year’s Resolutions and somebody (I can’t even remember who now) mentioned they would like to volunteer more in 2012.  I started to think about that for myself and came across Girls on the Run on another blog.  I haven’t made any commitments and depending on if they do their runs after school (next to impossible for me to do) or on the weekends (much more ideal) will be a big deciding factor.  Mostly, I just wanted to share that to hold me accountable and push me to actually get out there to help in the community!
